About the Site
HTML Editor Reviews is a site dedicated to reviewing (X)HTML coding tools, where people can discuss and recommend their favourite editors.
I started this site because I create websites and am always on the lookout for the best (X)HTML editor. However, my online searches have never turned up a good one-stop resource that focuses on reviewing and recommending (X)HTML coding tools.
At the same time, the question “What’s the best editor to use?” consistently appears on web design forums across the net, and because these forums are typically not dedicated to the subject of (X)HTML tools, users get tired of seeing this same question over and over. Here, however, that question is what keeps us going.
About the Reviews
I have to qualify these reviews by saying that I develop primarily in Windows and typically only use my Mac Mini and my Linux box for browser testing. The websites I develop are XHTML/CSS-based and I often find myself working with PHP and MySQL. Essentially, then, I’m reviewing software based upon the ease and efficiency with which it allows me to accomplish my work in these areas.

Eric Barstad runs Shadow Box Creative Media, a company that promotes, organizes, and strengthens non-profit organizations via the web. Aside from creating websites, Eric is also a poet and editor. He currently lives in Gleichen, Alberta with his partner Erin and their three cats, Pickles, Finnegan, and Claude.
