1. What OS/platform do you primarily develop in?

I’m a Mac user, so my OS of choice is OS X.

2. What’s your (X)HTML editor of choice for coding websites?

I do most of my coding in TextWrangler, which is the little brother BBEdit. However, I wouldn’t call it my HTML editor of choice as I haven’t really made a conscious decision to use it as such. It’s just a free, lightweight text editor that happens to be sat in my dock.

3. How did you decide on this as your primary editor?

I use TextWrangler because it’s simple and free. However, I am keen on looking for a proper HTML/CSS editor when I find time, and maybe this site will help.

4. What’s the one (or more) feature of the software you couldn’t live without?

I recently had a play with skEdit and quite liked it. It had a lot of the features I’d want from an editor, like syntax highlighting, code hinting and code completing. However, my 15 day trial ran out before I had time to properly check it out. I’ll probably have a look at a few more editors when I find time, before I settle on one. Everybody seems to rave about TextMate, so that will probably be next on my list.

5. If you were in charge of choosing new features for this piece of software, what feature(s) would you add?

TextWrangler does exactly what it says on the box, so it probably doesn’t need more features. However, when I was checking out skEdit I did think that a better form of code navigation/collapsing would be in order.

6. Bonus Unrelated Question: What’s the best book you’ve read in the last year?

I used to read loads, but I just don’t seem to have the time anymore. I can’t remember the last non-techie book that I read, which is a bit worrying. I think I probably need a holiday so I can catch up on my reading.
